Where do I begin? I guess with the basics! Sea Island is not just one property but a complex of several resort options all operated by Sea Island. Sea Island consist of four locations where you can actually stay, The Cloister, The Lodge, The Inn, The Cottages or Broadfield. All with a completely different feel, design and experiences. Most luxury vacationers will pick the The Cloister (which also consist of the Beach Club). You can choose from either when staying at The Cloister to stay at the main mansion located on the inlet side of the island with river views or you can stay at The Beach Club. Which offers a beachfront resort like experience with beautiful beachfront pools, including a family pool. Rooms & Suites in The Cloister are very spacious, finely detailed and well designed. Each room has its own charm, where it's easy to recharge after the day's activities. All are impeccably designed, many with unique architectural features such as vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and handcrafted Oriental rugs.
Over in the The Beach Club you'll be ocean front with access to the resort like pools & beach. You'll enjoy the feel of a being at a luxurious five star Caribbean-esque Resort. Rooms & Suites in the Beach Club feature Spanish Mediterranean décor, including oriental rugs, exposed beam ceilings, and many include expansive ocean views.
The Lodge is where you want to stay if you are coming to golf or the golf lover in you wants to stay for easy access to all three golf courses, which includes the Seaside Course, the Plantation Course, the Retreat Course and in addition there is a putting course. With The Lodge being situated among these championship courses. The Lodge itself is styled after an English Manor, and it's 58 rooms & suites offer rich wood furnishings, exposed beams, marble baths with deep-soaking tubs and rainhead showers. The Lodge is only a few minutes drive from The Cloister so by no means must you stay at The Lodge to play golf during your stay.
Next you have Broadfield, which is a private lodge & guest house that combined can sleep up to 18 people. Giving off a true intimate traditonal lodge experience and natural habitat. Staying at Broadfield is meant for friend or family groups, and you'll have to explore the other properties of Sea Island for dining venues. I'll just mention in passing your other options are private Ocean Residences at The Cloister, and Cottages, as well as The Inn. The Inn offers more affordable, simpler, casual rooms, and it does have a small pool. The Inn however is located over on St. Simeon Island and is a short drive over to Sea Island's Cloister.
As for dining venues, plenty of options abound with several each at The Cloister & Beach Club, as well as at The Lodge. The most famous of these are both in The Cloister with the choice of either the authenic Italian 'Tavola' or the five star Georgian Room. At time of writing the Georgian Room is still closed. Over at the Beach Club you have Southern Tide as the main venue, but options consist of the Snack Shack (Poolside) and a pub known as Sea Strike & Pub. Over in The Lodge a country club like atmosphere at the two main dining venues of Colt & Alison or The Oak Room.
The Cloister itself has an incredible five star spa & and beautiful gardens. The spa has a water rotunda with waterfall and hydrothearpy pool, and the labyrinth with both mens and womens lounges and fitness center. As for things to do at Sea Island, the options are endless. Biking, Boating, Bowling, Horse Back Riding, Tennis, Water Sports, Fishing, Hunting, Shooting, and Falconary. Not to mention the wonderful children activities, nature activities and beach activities. You'll never run out of things to do on Sea Island. It's a great domestic luxury getaway for couples or families.
Nestled along the sands of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s easy to get swept away in the natural rhythms of the coastal South. Cool breezes. Swaying trees. Salty air. Convenient location. Award-winning property. More to offer than you can imagine. It all adds up to something pretty special. And very unforgettable. All perfectly located between Jacksonville and Savannah international airports. Sea Island entices families, outdoor enthusiasts, and those simply wanting to refresh. It is the only resort in the world to have received Forbes Five-Star awards for 13 consecutive years.
